St. Edward Catholic School

The cheer team is designed to be a welcoming place for cheerleaders to have fun and be creative while learning to incorporate Catholic teachings into their athletic lives. All cheerleaders are required to have Christian values and foster a positive and welcoming attitude in and out of uniform to all those around them. Those on the cheer team must remember that they represent St. Edward School.

Cheer Commitments

Cheerleaders cheer at home games for St. Edward throughout the school year including volleyball, basketball, soccer, and baseball.  Cheerleaders are allowed to be in other sports as well.  We also perform at selected school events and one Frassati Catholic High football game which is by invitation only. 

Practice Schedule

We practice once a week and are off on school breaks. Practices are traditionally on Fridays between 3:15PM-4:30PM/5:00PM.  However, practice schedules have not been finalized as of yet. This coming year, based on interest levels, we will have a special dance team within the cheer team.  This will allow interested cheerleaders to choreograph.

Fundraising

We are planning a fundraiser this year to help with the costs of uniforms and camps that will possibly allow for the cheer uniforms to be owned and retained by the school.  At this time, the practice and game day uniforms are purchased by parents from our online cheer store.

Important Upcoming Dates

March 1, 2024: Registration for cheerleading began for the 2024-2025 school year.  
It’s not too late to sign up but time is running out.
May 17th: Parent meeting 
May 23rd: Deadline to register
May 24th: Tentative Uniform Fitting
May 30th: Deadline to pay for the mandatory Universal Cheer Association day camp located in the Frassati Catholic High School Gym. The cost is $230.00.
July 25th-26th: Mandatory St. Edward Fundamental Cheer Day Camp 1:00-3:00pm, no fee
July 29th-31st: Mandatory UCA Cheer Day Camp
August- Cheer season begins
February 2025- Cheer season ends at the last home basketball game unless the basketball team makes the playoffs or there are other special school events

1. Your child’s full name
2. Your child’s grade level for 2024-2025
3. Your child’s experience level, no experience required
4. If you are interested in assistant coaching
