St. Edward Catholic School

The cheer team is designed to be a welcoming place for cheerleaders to have fun and be creative while learning to incorporate Catholic teachings into their athletic lives. All cheerleaders are required to have Christian values and foster a positive and welcoming attitude in and out of uniform to all those around them. Those on the cheer team must remember that they represent St. Edward School.

Cheer Commitments

Cheerleaders cheer at home games for St. Edward throughout the school year including volleyball, basketball, soccer, and baseball.  Cheerleaders are allowed to be in other sports as well.  We also perform at selected school events and one Frassati Catholic High football game which is by invitation only. 

Practice Schedule

We practice once a week and are off on school breaks. Practices are traditionally on Fridays between 3:15PM-5:00PM.  However, practice schedules have not been finalized as of yet. 

Fundraising

We are planning a fundraiser this year to help with the costs of uniforms and camps. The cheer uniforms are owned and retained by the school.  Practice uniforms are to be purchased by parents from our online cheer store.

Note: Students must be enrolled at St. Edward Catholic School and have an updated sports physical to participate.

Important Upcoming Dates

• March 1st: Registration for cheerleading begins. 

• April 1st: Deadline to register. Newly enrolled students may still be accepted after this date based on available sports and coaches discretion.

• April 15th: Parent meeting and uniform fitting. 

• April 30th: Deadline to drop team.

• May 1st: Athletic fee deducted through FACTS by St. Edward.

• May 20th: Cheer camp fees and any misc fees due. Practice wear needs to be ordered through Champion team store with the link that will be provided.

• July: Sign out uniforms and hand out bows. 

• July 16th- 17th: Mandatory Monarch Camp at St. Edward from 9am-12pm.

• July 22nd-24th: Mandatory Sideline Spirit Camp at St. Edward from 9am-4pm.

• August: Cheer season begins.

• February: Cheer season ends after the last basketball game.

2. Your child’s grade level for 2024-2025
3. Your child’s experience level, no experience required
4. If you are interested in assistant coaching
