Team Purpose
The cheer team is designed to be a welcoming place for cheerleaders to have fun and be creative while learning to incorporate Catholic teachings and positive school spirit into their athletic lives. Cheerleaders, whether they are in or out of the uniform, are required at all times, to exhibit Christian values through a positive and welcoming attitude to all at school and in the community. Each cheerleader must always remember that others will view our team and school based on their behavior. A cheerleader’s role is to foster positive spirit and energy throughout the school and during the games.
Cheerleaders cheer for home soccer, volleyball and basketball games unless requested for tournament games.
Cheerleaders can be on other sports teams/clubs at the same time. They will cheer the games that don’t conflict with their other team.
We also perform at school and outside events. Cheer held a school pep rally this year and performed at the Church Festival and a Frassati High School football game.
Cheerleaders must attend most practices.
Cheerleaders must attend the 2 day summer Mandatory Monarch Camp (@ 3 hours each day). (Unless out of town)
Cheerleaders must keep their School owned cheer uniforms in pristine condition and return it at the end of the season or upon leaving.
Practices are held every Friday afterschool until 5 pm and occasionally until 5:30pm for extra event practices. We do not meet over Holiday breaks. There also may be a rare and occasional practice on an off day to catch up for an event if needed.
Our cheer team wears a well designed and modest uniform that complies with the school dress code. We wear a jersey shell with our cheer skirt for outside games and events. A long sleeve moisture wick shell is worn with the skirt for indoor games and events.
The uniforms and pom poms are owned by the school and the athletic fee covers the usage of them. They must be returned in well cared for condition at the end of the season or at the time of leaving. A fitting will be held prior to season and uniforms will be distributed at the start of the season.
